One Halo Infinite developer has assured fans their thoughts on the recent reveal are being heard.

Halo Infinite has had a bit of a week. As one of the most anticipated games of the year, fans eagerly tuned into the Xbox Games Showcase expecting to be blown away.

What followed was less than ten minutes of footage that caused some excitement, and a lot of vitriol and the inevitable memes. Though the game underneath still looks fun, much of the discussion shifted to the seemingly flat visuals, pop-in and other technical shortcomings.

Various developers at 343 Industries have since explained that what we watched was an old build, and that the game will continue to improve until launch. Even members of the team who technically oversee other areas of development have chimed in to assure fans they’re not being ignored.

Dan Chosich, director of the Halo Infinite narrative experience, responded to a frustrated Twitter follower who was very disappointed with the reveal.

“I’ve been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to have expectations built [and] feel let down,” he said. “I want you to know your voice matters [and] is heard.”

“You’re not falling on deaf ears. I always want to live up to the legacy that Bungie pioneered. I personally care a lot about honoring that,” he added.

Chosich didn’t get into details about what that actually means, but it’s worth noting that improving visuals isn’t his area of expertise. Still, it’ll be interesting to see if major changes are made between now and Infinite’s holiday release.
