Square Enix has revealed what the gameplay for the mobile Nier title, Nier Reincarnation, looks like and it looks good.
Nier Reincarnation will have a gacha-based system, likely to unlock various characters, but this has yet to be confirmed. Just like other Japanese mobile games, Nier Reincarnation appears to have turn-based RPG combat, complete with a speed-up and auto-play button.
The main character is a new one to the Nier franchise, and she has a little ghost called Mama following her around. The game also has multiple stylistic designs, ranging from flat, monochrome characters wandering around 2D landscapes to more realistic, 3D-rendered combat and motion.
Closed beta keys for the Japanese version of the game are being given away via Square Enix accounts, but there has been no announcement of the game being released in other regions. Just like the other entries in the Nier series and Yoko Taro’s other mobile game, Sinoalice, it will likely get released worldwide at a later time. The closed beta begins on July 29.
