Another week, another set of challenges here in Fortnite: Battle Royale, as we steadily make our way through the third season of Chapter 2. The map is gradually returning to normal after its flooding at the beginning of the season, and now we’re working with something that’s a lot less Waterworld and a lot more like what we were looking at this time last season. But for now, the challenges: let’s take a look at where to find Rapid’s Rest for some stone collecting.
Rapid’s Rest is a smallish location in the Southeast corner of the map. It appears to be a sort of whitewater rafting lodge area, at a place where the river gets a little faster and will actually carry your items away if you don’t snag them quickly enough. Here’s where you’re going:
It’s sort of that little bend triangulated by Lazy Lake, Retail Row and Catty Corner. There’s not a whole lot else down there, and it would be easy to miss it if you aren’t looking for it. You can see these on the challenge map in the battle pass menu, as well.
Once you’re there, it’s actually sort of tricky. You’ll need to harvest the majority of the large boulders on the river to get up to 300 stone, and at this early point it’s a fairly hot spot. I was able to get it done in one match because I’m fairly sure that the character shooting me was a bot, but this is a small landmark, and so it could get contested pretty quickly. This might be one of the challenges that’s best to do the day after they drop for a bit more of a leisurely experience. It’s always annoying to have to drop again.
If you get shot, head back in another match and get it done. This isn’t too far from Catty Corner, so maybe once you’re done with this one you can head on down there to see if you can collect some Yarn Balls. That’s going to be a hot location as well, so make sure to grab some weapons before you do.
